Review "Mistress of the Wind"

Mistress of the Wind by Michelle Diener

Bjorn needs to find a very special woman . . .

The fate of his people, and his own life, depends on it. But when he does find her, she is nothing like he imagined, and may just harbor more secrets than he does himself.

Astrid has never taken well to commands. No matter who issues them . . .

She's clashed her whole life with her father, and now her lover, the mysterious man who comes to her bedroom in darkness and disappears to guard his mountain by day as a bear, is finding it out the hard way. And when he's taken by his enemies, no one is prepared for Astrid's response.

It is never wise to anger the mistress of the wind . . .

A captivating and magical adult retelling of the fairy tale East of the Sun, West of the Moon.

My rating:

*Thanks for Michelle Diener and Netgalley for giving me the chance to read and review the book*

Mistress of the Wind is a retelling of the fairy tale East of the Sun, West of the Moon.
I haven't read the original fairy tale and can't compare the two, but no matter what this was a beautiful retelling of the fairy tale. I don't know how much the book follows the actual tale, but regardless the story was amazing and filled with action and romance. The story follows Bjorn who's been turned into a bear by day and man at night by his stepmother, Norga. Bjorn and Norga have a bargain that if he can find the girl he met years ago, Astrid, and make her his he can be free and become a man again, if he can't do this he's forced to marry Norga's daughter. When Bjorn finds Astrid there's more challenges to overcome.
Astrid was a great character to follow as well as Bjorn, she's not whiny or annoying in the long run. You follow her journey to discover who she really is and the evolvement of her and Bjorn's relationship.
Mistress of the wind was a beautiful fairy tale re-telling filled with action and romance that has you hooked early on in the story. The characters are loveable and the world was well devolped, you almost felt as if you were there with the characters.
A great read for anyone who loves mythology and romance.

This was my first Michelle Diener book and it really got me hooked on reading more of her books to experience more of her beautiful writing.
